Contract Mobilisation

The time allocated following a procurement exercise before commencement of the service delivery is arguably the most critical time for a new service for a project in its infancy.  If it goes wrong it can hamper the whole service delivery – if it goes well it lays the foundations for the success of the future of the Contract.

echelon Consultancy can support organisations and their Contractor partners through this challenging time period.  We have in the past supported Organisations following on from our won procurement or supported organisations where we have had no prior engagement.

Through the delivery of many successful mobilisations we have found that the best way to commence the mobilisation is through a workshop. At this workshop we would expect all key stakeholders to be present. From here we can establish all key activities needed to commence the delivery of the new services.

Typically the activities required will require the formation of a number of groups to manage the activities:

  • Core Group – Governance and direction
  • IT
  • Operations
  • Communication
  • Commercial & Contract

The biggest impact of the mobilisation is the requirement of time from both teams. We would always recommend that the Client team and Contractor team have dedicated resources that will be solely responsible for the delivery of the mobilisation project.

Have you given enough consideration to your mobilisation?  If you would like to know more about delivering an effective mobilisation please do not hesitate to contact us.
