Asset management

Through the development of the relationships with Clients, it became apparent that there was huge potential to assist organisations in challenging their traditional approach to Asset Management.

In the past, organisations have been reliant on external Consultants undertaking a sample stock condition survey every 5 years. This approach causes several problems specifically the fact that up to 90% of stock condition data is then ‘assumed' through a cloning process.

In echelon's opinion, the focus should be on collecting key data on as many properties as possible rather than collecting hundreds of minor components and attributes on a small proportion of the stock.

In response to these issues, echelon has developed a process of stock condition validation that captures an organisation's current position on stock condition data that is either missing or not been captured through a process of validation. This enables organisations to ascertain their accurate Decent Homes position (including HHSRS data) based on actual data.

The primary tool for this process is our highly advanced data capture tool ‘Stock Evaluator'.

The software provides a platform to undertake a detailed data analysis, as well as providing cleansed data directly to the Client.

The key benefit of this approach is that it gives ownership of the stock condition process back to the Client Organisation and enables accurate updating and re-surveys to be undertaken by internal resources. This has the double benefit of delivering substantial cost savings on external surveying resources as well as maximising the use of the Client's own knowledge of the stock.
