Midland Heart Environmental – December 2007

Following the successful procurement of the Repairs and Gas Services for Midland Heart, echelon are now supporting Midland Heart with the procurement of the Cleaning and groundwork services. echelon are working closely with the Midland Heart procurement team supporting them through this process.
The two selected gas contractors have now gone live with their service and echelon have been working with Midland Heart staff to mobilise the new contracts. The first of the three repairs contractors commenced work on the 3rd December and are providing a service where customer satisfaction is currently 85% in the first week.

Kevin Hodder, Chief Executive of East Boro Housing Trust joined the echelon team at the annual end of season British Super Bikes Round at Brands Hatch.

Kevin commented as follows: ‘It was my first time at a motor sport event, it was a fantastic experience, with great company, a really enjoyable weekend’.

AMIP Update - November 2007

The sixth meeting of the AMIP Group took place on 30th October. The Group now has 13 members and the organisations within the group are now starting to see the value of the benchmarking data.

The first two contracts successfully go live!
The new gas service and install contracts were launched on Monday 5th November and have successfully started with input from echelon as Strategic Implementation Managers.
More Repeat Business for echelon - Raven Housing Trust - November 2007

Following the completion of the existing 'Promises Programme', Raven have re-tendered the Consultancy services for the procurement of their Planned and Maintenance works. Following a detailed selection process, echelon has been re-appointed. Mathew Baxter states 'we are delighted to be re-appointed by Raven and look forward to building on the success of the Promises Programme for future service delivery'.

We are excited with the prospect of working with only the second Community Gateway Association in the Country and the first in the South of England in the delivery of a £66m improvement programme that will be driven by Customers.

The echelon team have recently had an intensive 1 day training course on all aspects of partnering contracts from a legal viewpoint. The training was provided by Andrew Millross, Partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors.

echelon has facilitated the development of a new Best Practice and Benchmarking Club specifically for Asset Management issues, The Asset Management Improvement Partnership (AMIP).
The club currently has 11 members representing approximately 100,000 social housing properties and the membership is growing rapidly.
The key purpose of the group is to share Best Practice in all aspects of repairs and maintenance and we have already seen some excellent outputs through the development of the use of interim relief orders for no access on gas servicing.
Uniquely, the club owns and manages its own bespoke set of Key Performance Indicators and benchmarks through a web based system.

2. Chelmer Housing Partnership : Review of Chelmer Housing Parnterships Direct Labour Organisation with a focus on undertaking a review of the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation in the delivery of responsive repairs and maintenance.
3. Homes for Haringey : echelon have been appointed as Strategic Partnering Advisors to assist in the development of a strategic partnering approach for the delivery of Decent Homes.

echelon are pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron John as an Equity Director with echelon. Aaron has a wealth of experience both as a Client working with a large London based Housing Association as Customer Services Manager and a large National Contractor as Support Services Manager.
