Prior to starting echelon, Mathew has over 17 years experience in the construction industry as client, contractor and consultant. 12 years of this experience has been in the Social Housing sector and Mathew was at the forefront of developing Partnering projects as a Client and has unrivalled experience of delivering Asset Management projects from all perspectives.

Key Skills
Mathew has vast knowledge of the Social Housing Sector and has developed the core business activities that echelon operate within. A key skill is facilitation of workshop processes and development of team-based approaches to project delivering, ensuring that a lasting legacy is left with the delivery team.
echelon Role
Mathew is responsible for the strategic management of the company and a acts as lead consultant on all the major projects on which echelon are engaged. This role includes the development and delivery of some of the key echelon tools, such as the Partnering Health Check and Stock Evaluator as well as managing the implementation of KPIs (40 projects and counting!) as well as developing a unique, market-leading approach to procurement of asset management based services.
As well as providing a strategic role, Mathew also provides hands-on support to the other consultants and is responsible for overseeing all project management through active engagement with the client throughout the process.
Outside echelon
Mathew’s main passion is motorcycle racing leading to the tie-up with echelon racing. Mathew also enjoys golf and fishing. He is an active Board Member of Hillside Housing Trust and a member of the Group Operations Committee for Hyde Housing.
