What is a business process?
A process is a logical step by step representation of business activities showing key inputs/outputs
Businesses compete through their processes. Processes determine how much value you provide and therefore your competitiveness, the margins you can expect to make and your profitability. Understanding and improving your processes will lead to improvements in the performance of your business. Before you can begin to improve a process you must fully understand it.

In response to this, echelon has developed a bespoke approach to undertaking a review of any existing process or creating a new process.
This process includes the following stages:-
- The first stage is to get all of the core stakeholders in the process together and identify the process as it currently is.
- Using the stick-on notes to represent start, end, actions, inputs, outputs or decisions, map the flow of work.
- Identify duplication and waste in the current process
- Identify Best Practice in relation to the process being reviewed or created
- Once the current process has been mapped echelon can work with the key process owners and re engineer the process to remove duplication, waste, include Best Practice models and maximise process efficiency
- A final process can then be created on a Microsoft office product to enable this to be published and circulated to your team and allow easy amendment to the process in the future.
- Implement new process with any new accompanying templates or documentation.
